PTI paint by number sketch challenge and CPS #153

I have been having so much fun following Papertrey Ink's 3rd birthday celebration and announcements over at Nicole's blog. There are so many new products coming out this year!! Here are a couple of cards that I managed to make for the challenges associated with the celebration.

I made this card for the Paint by number sketch challenge. The sketch and dimension of the pieces in the sketch are provided. According to the first letter of your online username, there is also a color combination for you to follow.

My colors are kraft, ocean tides, spring moss, lemon tart and vintage cream. I am not so sure about my lemon tart here, but I had fun making this card and that's what mattered! =) The pattered papers are from PTI's Pretty Pastels. I tamped the swirly leaf image from the Beyond Basic Border set on the kraft piece with VersaMark Dazzle before I stamped the sentiment.

Papertry Ink is also the sponsor of this week's challenge over at Card Positioning Systems.

The patterned paper is from In Bloom and the stamps are from Autumn Abundance stamp set.

That's all I have for today. Hope you have a beautiful day! =)

Thanks for stopping by!

Spring Fling & Glitterati

Happy Monday my friends! I am here to share two cards that I made using new digital releases at Two Peas.

Betsy Tuma's new kit Glitterati: Uptown has glitters all over her beautiful designs. I love each and every modern design on the patterned papers that came in this kit.

It's been a little challenging to take photos for the two cards that I am showing today. The white card base is very difficult against my white back drop...

This card was inspired by this layout created by my fellow DCT member - Jennifer. I just love the color combination in this Spring Fling kit created by Shelley Castillo!

I printed a strip from each of the pretty digital papers that came with this kit. Then I punched those papers using Martha Stewart's 3-in-1 Butterfly punch, but I only used the bigger butterflies for my card.

That would be all from me today. Please go and check out all the new digital releases at Two Peas here.

Cupcake Inspiration Challenge #45

Happy Super Bowl Sunday! Well, I'll probably be watching the big game solely for the commercials. LOL! Weird? I was an Advertising major in college and the Super Bowl ads are the ones to watch as I was taught. I mean those big companies spend big bucks to get the spots, so they better get some awesome ads made to get their money's worth!! =)

On to my card for this week's Cupcake Inspiration Challenge. This week's inspiration was suggested by a reader - Lori King! She has a pretty awesome blog, so please hop over and say hi to her! Here is the photo she provided:

I would never be able to eat that cupcake! So much work was put into making it. Here is my card inspired by this photo:

As soon as I saw Lori's photo, I knew that I had to use this Gorjuss Girl stamp for my card!

The cat is just purrfect for it, don't you think?

I also used purple from the photo to color Gorjess Girl's outfit and the base color of my card. You can find more adorable Gorjuss Girl stamps at Sugar Nellie Stamps.

That's all I have for today. Don't forget to go and check out what other HSE Sweeties came up with! Here are the links:

Please go to Rachel's blog to find out how you can join us in this delicious challenge!

more Pure Innocence Valentine's

I managed to put together a few more cards using Pure Innocence digital stamps on Sunday. Thanks to the master enabler Donna for introducing me to these cute images created by Heather Ellis!! =)

The ribbon treatment that I used on both cards was inspired by this card made by Hannah.

I didn't put any sentiment on this card since I couldn't find a proper place on the front... I'll stamp a message inside before I send this card out.

I adore her in overalls!! =) This image just makes me smile. The sentiment is from Nina's Heartily Yours Additions.

I picked up this Brazzill Basics ribbon at my LSS and was really happy that it matched perfectly with the card base color and the orange I used in the image! Little coincidences like this make me happy! =)

I have a little fun thing to share with you since it is happening as I am typing this. I scrap/make cards with a cat on my lap about 5% of the time. Tonight, my boy (you can see his photo at upper right hand corner of my blog) - Jamie has been on my lap for... 2-3 hours!! I put a towel on my lap before he "landed." I just grab the four corners of the towel and lift him up when I need to switch my leg positions as they do fall asleep.

I was really surprised when this happened the first time since I do move a lot when I am making cards or stamping. He even survived a heat embossing session tonight!! He just sleeps and licks himself in between naps when he is on my lap.

That's it for today. Hope you all have a lovely weekend! =)

Taylored Expressions Sketch Challenge #99

Happy Friday, everyone!! I am back with a sample card for Taylored Expressions Sketch Challenge! We took two weeks off due to CHA and now we are back again. Here is this week's sketch:

Here is my card:

I used a super cute owl digital image from Pink Petticoat's With Flower collection.

They are just the cutest owls with those flower prints on them! =) The sentiment came with the image.

I colored my image using the colors from the Be Loved patterned paper from My Mind's Eye. I just realized that I have two cards in a row using this same paper set. Hope you are not tired of it! =)

Well, that's all I have for now. Don't forget to check out what all the other members of the TESC Sketch Crew came up with for this sketch!! Here are the links:

Dancing Willow

I am sharing my first card as Whiff of Joy Guest DT with you today! I used Dancing Willow from the new City Girl collection illustrated by Elisabeth Bell. This beautiful set of stamps is available starting today at Whiff of Joy Stamps.

I used Sketch #88 from Sketch Saturday for my card. The patterned paper is from My Mind's Eye's yummy Be Loved collection. I added some Liquid Pearls to Willow's necklace. Isn't she fabulous? I know the perfect girl to give this card to even though her birthday isn't until summer. And I know she probably isn't reading my blog, so we are safe here! =)

Whiff of Joy begins to sell bi-monthly stamp kits starting this year. And the first kit of 2010 is illustrated by Elisabeth Bell called Birdie Love. Here is a preview of what you will be getting.

It's such a beautiful kit, huh? Just perfect for spring, don't you think? Pre-order of this bi-monthly kit is available now at Whiff of Joy Stamps.

Please stay tuned as I'll have more cards made using the new City Girl collection to share with you throughout February! =)

a Pure Innocence Valentine

I was enabled by Donna to get some of the super adorable Pure Innocence digital stamps created by Heather Ellis. I have a few of them colored, but never put them into cards until this past Sunday. Here is one that I made using the sketch from Friday Sketchers #87.

Isn't she just the sweetest character? I love the flower bouquet that she is holding in addition to the envelope. I paired her with BasicGrey's Blush collection from a few years ago. I am pretty happy how much I am using this older set! =)

The sentiment is from Nina's Heartily Yours Additions stamp set. This is a very versatile set and I am sure I will be using it over and over again!
