Taylored Expressions Sketch Challenge #120

Happy Friday, everyone! =) Thanks for joining me for my card for this week's Taylored Expressions Sketch Challenge. First is the sketch:

Here is my card:

I used Bella and Bronte from Mo's Digital Pencil for my card. I adore this sweet image! I paired her with the yummy papers from October Afternoon's Thrift Shop collection. The sentiment is from this versatile set by Hero Arts.

I tried to create a film strip-ish look in the background, so I printed out three smaller images then colored them using monochromatic color scheme. Thanks to Donna for the color combination in this post.

I then glued them diagonally on the text paper from the Thrift Shop collection before trimming. I used a 1/8" hole punch to punch out the film strip-ish notches as Kristina Werner showed on this layout. It took a little while, but I like how it turned out. Now, this punch is officially on top of my list!! LOL! Tools make my life easy. =)

It's a little sad that most of the little images were covered, but was a great chance to practice coloring in monochromatic colors. I added a little ribbon bit and a button on the focal image for a little interest. The beautiful teal twill from May Arts is the perfect match for this paper collection! You can find them at Practicing Creativity. Courtney has an awesome selection of ribbons in her store, so go and check them out!

Well, that's all I have for now. Don't forget to check out what all the other members of the TESC Sketch Crew came up with for this sketch!! Here are the links:
Also, we are welcoming a new Sketch Crew member - Rosie Hughes! Welcome to the Crew, Rosie! Please hop over to her fabulous blog and say hi. Don't forget to go to Taylor's blog to find out how you can join the fun!

Have a fabulous weekend, my friends! =)
