Papillon
Happy Friday, all! I actually started a crochet project and it's supposed to be a tunic when I am finished. Well... I only hope that I'll get to ware it when it come winter 2012. =)
On to today's card. I made this card for the All About Metal Challenge over at the Inspiration Journal.
The background is made by first stamping the script from Tim's Popillon set on a piece of watercolor paper using Pitch Black Acrylic Paint Dabber. Yes, I am officially too lazy to drag out my heat embossing tools and am using Pearl, Snow Cap and Pitch Black Acrylic Paint Dabbers for the resist effect. =) I then draged the piece of watercolor paper through a pool of ink created by barn door, broken china, peeled paint and picket fence distress stains. I love the white/milky effect that the picket fence distress stain adds to the colors. I also like how it tuned the black stamping down a bit. Tim has an video on tips and tricks using distress stains here.
Here is a look of the flower made using Kraft Glassine paper and old book pages cut using the Tattered Florals die. I scrunched all the pieces before layering them together. The center is a brown button threaded with twine that has a Trinket Pin and sentiment tag tied to it.
The lace trim is dyed with antique linen and fired brick distress stains. The sentiment tag is cut from a piece also created using the same technique as the background piece, but I didn't like the overall look and just used a little piece of it. The sentiment is from Papertrey Ink.
That's it for now. Don't forget to submit your projects with metal here for a chance to win 50 Emporium Dollars to use in the Inspiration Emporium store!
