Journey Back

Hi all! Hope you are having a fantastic weekend! Here are a few hybrid cards that I made using Vinnie Pearce's digital kit - Journey Back.

This mini set are the size of half of a regular A2 size card, so they are 4 1/4" x 2 3/4." I got the idea from Jennifer McGuire's lovely set here.

See those pretty butterflies? They come with beautiful patterns on them and you can get them just by themselves if you don't want to get the full Journey Back Collection. They are in the Art on Wings - Set 02 kit.

The yummy digital papers are available in the full kit or by themselves in the Art Papers VI kit. I used five different papers from the Art Papers VI kit for my mini set. They are all irresistible! You will have to see them for yourself!

I was a little worried that this last card would be too busy. I loved so many of the papers and elements in this kit, I wanted to use as many as I could. =)

Again the butterfly is from Art on Wings - Set 02. All the other delicate papers can be find in the full kit or in the Papers kit. I was in love with the bird and birdcage background paper and I knew I had to use it!

I placed the pretty postage stamps (available in the Elements kit) on top of the cute polka dot paper (must have!) before I printed it out. I dyed the seam binding in tumbled glass this time and was so happy that the color matched! The sentiment is from Papertrey Ink.

I got a few questions about how I make my hybrid cards. Here is how they look like when I printed the images out.

I usually do all the designing/layout in Photoshop and I almost always start with an idea/design for the cards. I only print the papers a little bigger than I need to save ink. Most of the time my plans/designs work out just fine and I don't need to reprint anything. However, for my last card I printed the papers out with a design that I didn't end up using. Good thing was that "Plan B" worked! =)

I usually print my digital papers on Neenah papers, but the card bases are almost always cardstock from Papertrey Ink. I love their sturdiness.

That's all I have for now. Thanks for sticking around for the long post! Don't forget that all of Vinnie's kits are on sale at Two Peas, see them all here!

Have a wonderful Sunday! =)

Thanks for stopping by!

Beautiful cards Alice!
I think that is so clever of you to design your cards beforehand and then print them out!
I recently found a free download of hers, really nice vintage pages, but I don't know what to do with them!
