Real Flowers & Watercolor Petals

Hello my friends! I was inspired by Yvonnes layout here and it reminded me of this technique, so I decided to make a card for the Fanatical About Botanical Challenge over at the Moxie Fab World. Here is what I came up with.

For the background piece, I stamped the leaves from Hero Arts Watercolor Petals set using peeled paint and shabby shutters distress inks with spritz of water on watercolor paper. The piece is then covered with scrunched up tissue paper.

Here is a close up of the texture that I love about this technique.

For the sentiment panel, I covered the trimmed watercolor paper with scrunched up tissue paper first before I stamped the flower from the Real Flowers set with spiced marmalade and barn door distress inks. The sentiment from the Find Joy set is then stamped with vintage photo distress ink.

I have a couple more cards made for this challenge and hope that I'll be able to post them before the deadline. =)

Purple Onion Designs is releasing 7 new stamp/stamp sets on Wednesday August 10th. All the new stamps have a name starts with the letter "B." Leave a comment on this post with your guess for a chance to win some of the new stamps!

One more thing:

I was featured on the Best of the Web: Be @ Home website here with other fun blogs including my sweet friend Donna. Hope you can hop over and have a look! =)

Have a beautiful day and thanks for stopping by!
