Thinking of You

Hi ya, all! Laura Davis from the popular 2 Sketches 4 You is now hosting a fun sketch challenge on her personal blog The Paper Poppy! I decided to try out her January sketch before the deadline. Here is the sketch.

It's Laura's signature simple and chic sketch and here is my take on it.

I stay pretty close to the sketch this time. =)

This also gave me the perfect excuse to play with my February Card Kit of the Month from Simon Says Stamp. The patterned paper is from Fresh Cuts 6x6 Paper Pad by BasicGrey and the sentiment is from Thinking of You set. I am also linking this up to the Anything Goes with Twine or String challenge over at Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge Blog since there are some string loops behind the speech bubbles.

That's all from me. A new Poppy Sketch will be posted on The Paper Poppy on February 1st, don't forget to check it out! =)

Have a sweet day and thanks for stopping by!

Hello, my friends! I am honored to be guesting on Mariana Grigsby's Blog today. January's theme on Mariana's blog is "Cats & Dogs" and I am pretty sure you would want to check out her fabulous cards and layouts! Here is the card that I made for my guest post.

The kitty and pillow stamps are from Pillow Talk set by Simon Says stamp. They are stamped on PTI's Stamper's Select White cardstock, colored with Copic makers then die cut using a Tipped Tops die.

The patterned paper is from Family Traditions 6x6 Paperpad Collection by Webster's Pages and the sentiment comes with the Pillow Talk set.

I Like You

Hi ya, all! I am "turing in" my first homework for Online Card Classed: Stenciled.

I was inspired by one of Jennifer McGuire's card from Day 1 of the class. Jennifer showed us how to create a layered look with your stencils. Hum… I don't' know why the colors look all wonky here, but I only used two ink colors to ink the stencil.

In stead of using a stencil, I used the cut out from Papertrey Ink's Center Stage Cover Plate die. I positioned my stencil at a diagonal and inked it with Peacock Feathers Distress Ink, shifted it a little and inked with Picked Raspberry Distress Ink. I kind of like the retro colors and design. =) The sentiment is from I Like You set by Kelly Purkey for Simon Says Stamp. I also traced the sentiment with a Clear Wink of Stella Glitter Pen to add a little shine.

That's all for now. Have a fabulous day, my friends! =)

Thanks for stopping by!

Birch

Happy Monday, all! Here is a card that I made using a lovely stamp from Purple Onion Designs.

This little guy is adorable and so fun to color! =)

His name is Birch and he is stamped on Papertrey Ink's Stamper's Select White cardstock, colored with Copic markers then fuzzy cut out.

The patterned paper is from Love Note 6x6 Paper Pad by Crate Paper. I trimmed several patterned paper from the same collection into 1/2" stripes and glued them on a diagonal on a piece of thin scratch paper before die cutting the sentiment. It is then coated with Rock Candy Distress Stickles for a little interest.

That's all I have for now. For more inspiration using stamps from Purple Onion Designs, please visit Purple Onion Designs Blog! =)

Papertrey Ink January 2014 Blog Hop Challenge

Hi ya, all! I am joining in on Papertrey Ink's January Blog Hop Challenge today.

The challenge for January is to use shades of pink with neutrals and here is my card.

I had to ink up the beautiful feathers from Feather Finery set. They are inked with Festive Berries, Picked Raspberry and Ripe Persimmon (okay, guilty, this is not pink, but close enough?) Distress Inks. I spritzed them with water before inking the first impressions on scratch paper. I then spritzed more water without re-inking and stamped the second generation impressions on the card base.

The sentiment is included in the Feather Finery set and a few matching sequins helped finishing this one layer card. Hope you likey! =)

That's all for now. You can find all the participants of the blog hop here! Have fun hopping!

Have a beautiful day and thanks for stopping by!
