Taylored Expressions Sketch Challenge #101
Hello my friends! It's Friday and it's time for another Taylored Expressions Sketch Challenge! This week's sketch is a little special. Taylor is organizing a card drive for the Neo-natal Intensive Care Unit at Sanford Hospital in Sloux Falls, SD. .At the hospital, they give cards and memorabilia featuring a dragonfly as a symbol of hope to families who lose a child in birth or during the early stages of life. And Taylor is asking anyone who is interested in participating this card drive to make cards with dragonflies on them. This was one of the driving forces behind the design of the Discover Your Wings stamp set. For every 50 cards she receives, Taylor will give away a $50 certificate to the TE Store. To kick off this meaningful card drive, here is this week's sketch for some inspiration:
Here is my card:
I stamped Hero Arts' Silhouette Grass and Friend Definition on a piece of Papertrey Ink's Rustic Cream cardstock using the watercolor technique for the background. The edges were then distressed with Tea Dye and Vintage Photo.
This beautiful dragonfly is from Hero Arts' digital kit - Winged Friends. I colored it with Copic markers. I also rubbed some Vintage Cream Perfect Match Hybrid Ink from PTI on the edges of the card base. After adhering everything down, I spritzed some homemade Perfect Pearls glimmer mist on the whole card to get the shimmering look.
Well, that's all I have for now. Don't forget to check out what dragonfly cards all the other members of the TESC Sketch Crew came up with for this sketch and card drive!! Here are the links:
